Ball Striking & Path
Two tees form a narrow gate around the ball — clipping one gives instant feedback on an out-to-in path or an open clubface.
beginner15-20 balls, 2-3 times a week2-4 teesBalls
How to perform it
- 1.Push two tees into the ground just outside the toe and heel of your clubhead at address, with the ball between them.
- 2.Swing normally, trying to pass the clubhead through the gate without touching either tee.
- 3.Note which tee you clip most often — the outside tee usually means an over-the-top path.
- 4.Narrow the gate slightly as your strikes become more consistent.
What you should learn
- •Whether your club is approaching from over-the-top or too far from the inside.
- •How an open face at impact compounds an out-to-in path into a slice.
After a few weeks of practice
You'll clip the outside tee far less often, ball flight straightens out or starts to draw slightly, and strikes land closer to the centre of the face.
