Ball Striking & Path
A towel pinned under both armpits trains your arms and torso to move together, fixing the 'hanging back' or scooping motion behind fat and thin shots.
intermediate10 half-swings building to 15-20 full swings, 2-3 times a week1 towel (or 2 headcovers)
How to perform it
- 1.Fold a towel into a band and drape it across your chest, tucking the ends under each armpit.
- 2.Take practice swings keeping the towel pinned in place from address through the finish.
- 3.If the towel drops, your arms have disconnected from your body turn — reset and slow down.
- 4.Progress from half-swings to full swings once you can hold the towel through a complete motion.
What you should learn
- •The feeling of your arms and torso turning together rather than the arms swinging independently.
- •Where in the swing your connection tends to break down first.
After a few weeks of practice
Your swing feels noticeably more rotary and connected, the club bottoms out at a more consistent spot, and fat and thin misses become less frequent.
