Balls placed around a hole like numbers on a clock face force you to adapt your technique to each lie and angle instead of repeating one comfortable chip.
intermediateOne full clock (4-12 chips) per session, 2-3 times a week4-8 ballsA few wedges/ironsPractice green
How to perform it
1.Place four or more balls at equal distance around a hole, spaced like clock positions (12, 3, 6, 9 o'clock).
2.From each position, choose the club and technique that suits that particular lie and angle.
3.Chip toward the hole, counting how many finish within a set radius, such as 3 feet.
4.Rotate through every position, then repeat from a new hole location or slope.
What you should learn
•How to adapt technique and club choice to the lie in front of you, rather than relying on one stock chip.
•To focus on landing spot and roll-out rather than the hole itself.
After a few weeks of practice
Your up-and-down percentage from varied greenside positions rises, and club/technique selection starts to feel instinctive rather than guessed.
