Two sticks laid on the ground like railroad tracks separate your body alignment from the target line, so you stop aiming your feet at the flag.
beginner10-15 setups per range session2 alignment sticks
How to perform it
1.Lay one alignment stick on the ground pointing straight at your target.
2.Lay a second stick parallel to it, just outside your toes, marking your stance line.
3.Set your feet, knees, hips and shoulders along the outer 'rail' — parallel-left of the target, not pointing at it.
4.Hit shots and check that the ball starts on the line the inner rail points to.
What you should learn
•The difference between aiming your body and aiming the clubface.
•What truly square alignment feels like, since it looks 'aimed left' to most golfers at first.
After a few weeks of practice
Squaring up parallel-left of the target stops feeling strange, shots start on your intended line more often, and push/pull misses caused by misaligned setup fade away.
