Lesson 7 of 7
Get comfortable chipping the ball close from just off the green.
~15 minWedgeBalls
Steps
- 1.From just off the green, set up with a narrow stance, weight favoring your lead foot.
- 2.Use a putting-like stroke with a wedge: minimal wrist hinge, shoulders rocking back and through.
- 3.Land the ball on the green and let it roll out toward the hole, rather than trying to fly it all the way there.
- 4.Keep the stroke length matched to the shot — a bigger stroke for a longer chip, a smaller one for a short one.
Why it helps
Short shots build feel and confidence fast, and lower scores far more reliably early on than full swings do.
Your assignment
Chip 15 balls from just off the green to a target, focused on landing spot rather than the result.
